TheL-2B Flight Jacket was issued in the US Airforce in 50s as areplacement of its predecessor, the blue L-2A. The jet-age was in full swing andas new types of air planes created new requirements for pilot performance,safety and comfort. The nylon jackets became the new standard and flight jackets made of leather becamesynonymous with the past.

This jacket could be worn reversed if the wearer would bein a situation were they needed to be visible and attract attention. The zipper has a pull on each side to make it easier to close no matter what side you are wearing facing out.

This is a vintage originalproduced in 1968 and the condition is just amazing considering the age of the jacket! It also has an original name patch on the chest andan original Air Defense Command patch. The Conmar zipper is original and in perfect condition. The wool cuffs and the waist band have some small holes, some have been repaired (see pictures for details) but apart from that we haven't seen any visible damages.

Allmeasurementsare in centimeters and measured on a flatsurface. Width ismeasuredstraight across the chest from armpit to armpit, length is measured at the back of the garment from the neck down and the sleeve length is measured on the underarm from the armpit to the end of the cuff.
